Constituents was contained in Siberian Ginseng are Eleutherosides, Carbohydrates, Phenylpropanoids, Terpenoid and Volatile oils.
Eleutherococcus ginseng is claimed to increases the body’s resistance to stress and builds up general vitality.
The dose is 0,6-3 gram of dry root daily for up to one month has been recommended.
Panax quinquefolius
American ginseng contains ginsenosides, which stimulate the immune system and fight fatigue and stress by supporting the adrenal glands and use of oxygen by exercising muscles.
It can be taken in the amount of 1 to 2 grams extract of American Ginseng per day in capsule or tablet form or 3 to 5 ml of tincture 3 times per day.
Side effects of American ginseng use such as insomnia and agitation are reported when caffeine containing foods and beverages are also being consumed.
Panax ginseng
Panax ginseng has synonyms Asian Ginseng, Korean Ginseng and Chinese Ginseng.
The root is used, preferably from plants older than 6 years of age.
Ginseng contains 13 ginsenosides especially Rg1 and Rb1 which are believed to increase energy, counter the effects of stress and enhance intellectual and physical performance. Whereas Panaxan help lower blood sugar and the polysaccharides which support immune function.
The dose is 100 to 200 mg extract of Panax ginseng per day or 2 to 3 ml for dried root tincture 3 times per day. Ginseng usually used for 2 to 3 weeks continuously, followed by 1 to 2 weeks rest period before resuming.
Ginseng is generally safe if it is consumed in recommended dose.
